Be in the Know! Get Your Answers to These Frequently Asked Hypnosis Questions...

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis can best be described as a state of focused attention or heightened awareness which in turn, heightens one's suggestibility.

Being more suggestible in this case, means a willingness to accept new ideas and an openness to absorb new information. It's important to realize that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and there must be a willingness to accept suggestions, or they will be rejected.

That's why at the hypnosis success centre we spend time educations each client on what hypnosis is and what it isn't.

Does Hypnosis Really Work?

Yes, it does!. So many people look outside of themselves for the answer to why they have this problem or why they can't stop a habit that is no longer useful. The answer to all of our problems lies within and hypnosis helps access that part of the mind where our beliefs and habits are located so that we can make positive changes. A good rule of thumb when deciding if hypnosis will work for your issues is to ask yourself, "Does stress make the condition worse?"

>If the answer is yes, then hypnosis will very likely help the situation.

Almost everyone has heard of, or knows someone that has been successful using hypnosis to stop smoking or losing weight, or has reduced anxiety or overcome a fear. As you discover what hypnosis really is, you will be amazed at all the things you can accomplish simply by learning self-hypnosis. Learn about a very special form of self hypnosis called 7th Path® taught at The Hypnosis Success Center.

Is Hypnosis sleep?

No.

You will hear everything going on around you, like being in a daydream or being wrapped up in a good book or a movie.

Although hypnosis is a derivative of the Greek word for sleep, first used by Dr. James Braid in the 1800's, by the time it was realized that hypnosis wasn't really sleep at all, the use of the name had already been well established.

What does the U.S. Government think?

Even the U.S. Government has a definition of Hypnosis: They bypass of the critical factor and the establishment of acceptable selective thinking.

What does this mean? Leave it to the Government to make things sound difficult.

The establishment of selective thinking creates a state of mind in which you can reject limiting beliefs, so you can accept the positive ones you want to make the changes in your life.

The easiest way to think of Hypnosis is as a state of focused attention in which you accept empowering suggestions.

How long will it take?

Using the 5PATH systematic approach, we can usually work through issues in 4 to 6 sessions, with 4 sessions being the average. Each client is an individual and may take fewer or more session, depending upon that your situation is. Each session lasts approximately and hour, to one hour and fifteen minutes. The first session is longer, extending up to an hour and a half in length due to the inclusion of educational videos.

We like to see our clients take a week in between sessions to give themselves time to absorb the suggestions, and see a shift or change. We can not guarantee any change, just as your doctor does not guarantee that you will get well. We will, of course, is that we will use the most modern hypnosis techniques available to help our clients facilitate change.

Will you make me quack like a duck?

No. We maintain our professional approach at the Center. The dignity and comfort of our clients always comes first. The first office visit is primarily aimed at educating the client about what hypnosis is and isn't, as well as dispel any fears and misconceptions that the client may have picked up from television and the movies. While stage show hypnosis does work, it's not something that we practice in our office.

How will I feel under hypnosis?

Hypnosis doesn't feel like anything. It is a natural state of mind in which a person becomes more amicable to accepting suggestions. Some clients report that they feel very light and floaty, while others report a heavy feeling. The most common reported feeling is one of complete relaxation.

How much will I remember?

Some people go deeply into a state of amnesia, and do not recall all of the session, but most people recall everything that happens during their session.

What if I don't think that I can be hypnotized?

Anyone of normal intelligence with a willingness to follow suggestions with no fears or misconceptions about hypnosis can be hypnotized.

If you have ever been running around looking for your keys, and discovered them in a place that you already looked, you were in a deep level of hypnosis. How easy was it to get there?

Will I get stuck under hypnosis?

Hypnosis is not mind control. You cant get stuck in hypnosis any more that you could get stuck in a daydream or watching a movie. You can not be made to do anything that you feel is immoral or against your will. In fact, if you are given any suggestions that make you feel at all uneasy, you will likely reject these and may even emerge from hypnosis on your own.

Is hypnosis dangerous?

No one has ever been harmed by simply entering a hypnotic state.

Again, hypnosis is not mind control.
